Gloucester County Open Water Championships

Zoe Frazer and Sophie Brown braved chilling temperatures at Henleaze Lake on a miserably wet day in July to compete in the Gloucester County ASA 2007 Open Water Championships.

Both girls showed true grit completing the 1000 metres course. The weather conditions were so bad that the Senior/Masters race was reduced from the original 2000 metre course to 1600 metres.

In the 12/13 year age group Sophie came 5 th in a time of 16.50.10 and Zoe was 11th in a time of 19:50.58

Cirencester finished an amazing 9 th out of 11 clubs overall!

Both girls have competed recently at the Modern Triathlon qualifier at Millfield, with Venetia finishing 3rd and Freya 6th which means they both qualified for the Championships to be held in Wolverhampton later this month.

They have also just returned this weekend from Yorkshire having competed in the Modern Pentathlon event where Venetia was 4th and Freya 6th overall.  Venetia was 2nd in the run over 2000m and 3rd in the swim.
